Specialisation Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology

Focus on the practical application of cellular and molecular knowledge with the aim of enhancing or improving production in micro-organisms or cell cultures. Knowledge and skills from this specialization can be applied in biobased technology, food biotechnology, medicine and vaccine development as well as in environmental technology.

Students who want to focus on the molecular and biological aspects of biotechnology will prefer this specialization.

Students will follow one year of courses, some compulsory and other optional. In the second year of the MSc students will perform two research projects: major thesis and internship or 2nd thesis.
