Mycotoxins in food and feed

Within the EU network of Reference Laboratories, Wageningen Food Safety Research is NRL for mycotoxins in food and feed in the frame of Verordening (EU) 2017/625 (group 3d, mycotoxins in animal products)

Mycotoxins are natural toxins produced by fungi present on crops in the field or the harvested and processed products. Both regulated and emerging mycotoxins are addressed including aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisins, zearalenone (ZON), patuline, HT2/T2, and ergot alkaloids.



Specific expertise analyses of mycotoxins

Wageningen Food Safety Research has specific expertise in the analyses of mycotoxins in a wide variety of food and feed commodities as well as in related matters such as legislation, sampling, method development, validation and quality control, and quality assurance of Official Field Laboratories (OFLs).
