My dream comes true!

Hello Everybody!
My name is Yolanda Arkesteijn, I’m a second year master student of International Land and Water Management. On 15 September I will leave for 3 months to Australia. As so many other people I have since I was a child a dream to go to Down Under and now my dream comes finally true.

I will go to Australia for my thesis research. The project that I will be working on is investigated by the University of the Sunshine coast (USC), the best university name of the world!  This university is located in the Sunshine Coast, about 150 km North of Brisbane on the East coast of Australia.

The project that I will be working on is located in the Currimundi Catchment, that is about 15 km from the USC. My research takes a closer look at the stakeholder participation in coastal erosion of which the lagoon is suffering. In the three months that I will be doing ‘field work’  I will collect data about the current erosion management strategies and how the community is involved in this process.
