Exploring Lausanne

Since the weather is back to summer finally, I got a day to discover Lausanne, the place where I would spend 6 months during the internship. It has several titles, like the Olympic Captial, city of study, commercial centre, convention venue and …leisure destination. And the most amazing part is that you could discover the city and visit every spot using public transport within walking distance.

The first day to discover the city took place in the downtown, I started with the Cathedral built in 1275. It is famous for the well preserved sculptures and the grand organ. There was not so much tourist so you could really sit there quietly, feeling the trail of the time. Out of the Cathedral and all the way down, there are a town hall and a church- Notre Dame du Valentin on the way. The city center was so crowded, I guess everyone went out to enjoy the precious sunshine. By the end of the long day, I took a photo of the Saturday’s market, which remind me of the open market of Wageningen. :P
