The Northern Lights

The Northern Lights – essential part of living so far up North! This year the season has started already in August. After arrival, a couple of nights in a row me and my friends were motivated to spot some. There is actually a forecast giving you an idea of how intense they are going to appear. However, if the sky is clear they most likely come between midnight and 4am. As we saw them above our heads it was just spectacular! The lights are moving quite fast and suddenly disappearing again. It’s really breathtaking!

This photo was taken in the second week of my stay. Now (after 5 weeks), we are still eager to see them, but due to the coldness outside you hesitate a bit. But since I am going to stay here for a while, I am pretty that I will see them more often.
