Hallelujaaaaa! Amen! Praise the Lord! Thank you Lord! Halleluja! And I can continue for a while with this kind of exclamations... I am talking about yesterday evening. After we read an advertisement in the newspaper, we were convinced: we had to go to this Gospel event. Although it wasn’t that cheap, we realized we had to experience such an evening to get the feeling of gospel in Sint Maarten.
You imagine it as a night you see in movies like SisterAct. A shared moment with people all dancing and singing together, all focussing on God and Jesus. But as it is with a lot of things in life, you have to experience them before you really know and understand how it feels to be part of it. We were the only two white ladies during the concert and in the beginning people stared at us like we were not at the right place. But as soon as we started to dance just like them, we were accepted as part of the big family. And the way they were singing, all convinced by the presence of God and Jesus, made me smile, although I might not think exactly that way.
