I am a theoretical biologist with a broad interest in ecology and evolution. My aim is to understand and possibly predict how the complex environments that organisms live in affect their evolution. To that end, I develop computational and mathematical models of evolving populations. My research focuses on microbial evolution, with research interests including (i) the effect of spatial structure on the evolution of interactions between bacteria, (ii) the evolution of communication between viruses, (iii) socio-microbiology, and (iv) multilevel and multiscale selection theory.
