Monique is a PhD researcher in the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour group at Wageningen University and Research. After obtaining a Bachelor in Business Administration, she graduated with two Master degrees (MSc Marketing and Research Master's degree in Business Research) from the University of Groningen.

Current Under the supervision of dr. ir. Arnout Fischer and dr. Marleen Onwezen, her PhD research focuses on examining consumer response in the transition towards plant-based proteins. She researches effective marketing and naming strategies for plant-based meat and dairy alternatives in the supermarket, as part of the multidisciplinary NWO project 'Accelerating the Transition to Plant-Based Proteins'. https://www.proteintransition.nl/
