Born in the heterogeneous landscapes of Italy, I have always been fascinated by nature’s mechanisms and diversity. Asserting this passion through my studies, I recognized the urgency of filling current know-how knowledge gaps for tackling pressing societal challenges, such as climate change.

I obtained a BSc degree in Forestry and Environmental Scisences at Tuscia University (VT), in Italy. After a short term experience at the UK Forestry Commission (Farnham, UK) I graduated in Forest Ecology & Management at WUR. During my MSc studies I had different research experiences both in disturbance ecology (CIRAD and INP-HP, Ivory Coast) and in climate change mitigation (LandLife Company). After obtaining my MSc degree, I worked at the European Forest Institute (EFI), where I built the new version of the opensource Database on Forest Disturbances in Europe (DFDE). Currently I'm a PhD candidate at VBL and FEM. My research focuses on the resilience of European forest ecosystems & resources.
