Jacques Trienekens is professor at the Business Management and Organisation group of Wageningen University. His research interests include (international) food chain and network management and food chain innovation. He has wide project experience in national and international research projects, both as researcher and as manager. His PhD students work on topics such as contracting, farmer learning processes, sustainability and innovation in value chains, and market orientation and (shared) governance in international value chain networks. In graduate and undergraduate education, as well as in international education, he also focuses on value chain topics, next to attention to general management and organisation themes. Jacques Trienekens has been visiting researcher at Cornell university in 2003, visiting professor at University of Bonn in Germany in 2005, at University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2009 and 2018 and Lincoln university in New Zealand in 2015. He is member of the board of directors of International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA). This organisation brings top-executives of international agri- and food businesses and academia together. In 2012 he has been awarded Fellow of this organization. Jacques Trienekens has been editor and managing editor of Journal on Chain and Network Science and International Food and Agribusiness Management Review respectively, and has published more than 150 refereed publications.
