I work as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Bacterial Genetics group of the Laboratory of Microbiology. My research focusses on the interesting biology of the extremely thermophilic archaeon, Pyrococcus furiosus. I aim to understand its chromosome seggregation mechanism, of which nothing is known yet.
Previous research includes the study of the central metabolism of the only known thermophilic succinic acid producer, Clostridium thermosuccinogenes, as part of my PhD. This was carried out at Corbion and in the Bacterial Genetics group of the Laboratory of Microbiology.
