Sara is a full-time Guest PhD student from Bogota, Colombia. She finished her bachelor studies in Food Process Engineering at La Sabana University in Bogota (Colombia), after which she started a MSc in Product Design and Quality Management at the Food Quality and Design Group at Wageningen University and Research (WUR). After obtaining her MSc degree in 2012 she worked as Junior Product developer for 3 years at the Alpina Research Institute, research institute from the Colombian dairy company Alpina Productos Alimenticios S.A. In 2016 she was granted a scholarship from the Colombian government institute COLCIENCIAS to start in 2017 the PhD project Variation in triacylglycerol composition in bovine milk fat and its effect on milk fat physical properties. Her PhD project aims to analyze the effect of the different factors, such as feeding regimes, genetic and seasonality, on the variations in triacylglycerol composition in milk fat and its effect on milk fat physical properties. Her project is supervised by Kasper Hettinga, Hein van Valenberg and Sine Yener.
