I am an engineer in Agronomy from National University Agraria La Molina (Peru) . After finishing my studies, I was involved directly in agronomy work, a great opportunity to appreciate the full value chain for exporting high value commodities, managing all the stages of the value chain from planting to processing and exporting. After an incredible field experience, I then joined the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), an international think tank in Washington DC, to learn more about the economics behind value chains and the role of policies at the local, regional and global level. At IFPRI, I conduct applied research, have received PhD-level training in social sciences, and have been involved in several research projects in different regions of the world. Specifically, I have directly worked in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Peru, Ecuador, China, Ghana, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Tanzania.
