Kasper Hettinga received his PhD at Wageningen University, for a thesis describing a new method for mastitis pathogen identification. He currently works as tenured associate professor at the Food Quality and Design group in the area of milk proteins. His main research topic is the characterization of the immunologically-active proteins in milk and their role in the health of newborns.
