Dr. Laura Trijsburg works as a researcher at the division of Human nutrition of Wageningen University in the Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) research project. Her research focusses on the assessment of the healthiness and sustainability the diet in various countries, while looking at this from a food systems perspective. Laura obtained her Bachelor and Master degree in Human Nutrition at Wageningen University in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
Her PhD research was on the measurement error structure in dietary intake assessment. She used the duplicate portion method in combination with 24 hour recalls to get insight into the measurement errors of food frequency questionnaires for various nutrients. She obtained her PhD title in 2016 from Wageningen University
From 2017 until 2018 she worked as an early career scientist at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) on an early career fellowship project that explored metabolomics related to dietary intake and the association with cancer. Her research interests are on the collection, analysis, validation and implementation of dietary intake data and assessing the healthiness and sustainability of the diet, on a global scale.
