I am an aquatic ecologist, currently working on small pelagic fish, i.e. the schooling fish that live in the water column, in the Dutch Wadden Sea. My research focuses on the temporal and spatial distribution of small pelagic fish, its habitat use and trophic interactions. I will examine the environmental drivers and the relation with zooplankton dynamics. This will be studied by conducting hydro-acoustic and stow net (ankerkuil) surveys and by using autonomous acoustic profilers (WBATs). My PhD is part of the project Waddentools-Swimway and I started in March 2020. I am part of AFI, but work mostly in IJmuiden at Wageningen Marine Research.

My direct supervisor at the WUR is dr. Jan Jaap Poos  and my daily supervisor at Wageningen Marine Research is dr. Ingrid Tulp..
