M (Monique) van der Meer MSc

PhD candidate Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, Promovendus

Monique is a PhD researcher in the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour group at Wageningen University and Research. After obtaining a Bachelor in Business Administration, she graduated with two Master degrees (MSc Marketing and Research Master's degree in Business Research) from the University of Groningen.

Current research: Under the supervision of dr. ir. Arnout Fischer, her PhD research focuses on examining consumer response in the transition towards plant-based proteins. She researches effective marketing and naming strategies for plant-based meat and dairy alternatives in the supermarket, as part of the multidisciplinary project 'Accelerating the Transition to Plant-Based Proteins'.

Research interests: Consumer behaviour, consumer psychology, sustainable consumption behaviour, anti-consumption, choice restrictions, voluntary simplicity, behavioural decision making.
