Researcher Smart Grid ACRRES and operator windfarm

Large scale adoption of sustainable energy is one of the biggest challenges of our generation. This requires Smart Energy solutions with new innovations and concepts to deal with the intermittent wat? of wind and solar. The solutions are to be found in the storage of energy, in batteries or power-to-X. Adjusting the grid and making energy smarter by combining demand and supply is very important. Technically and economically the business case has to be sustainable. New concepts might save (zonder s) us millions of euros in the province of Flevoland alone.

As the plant manager of the wind farms of Wageningen University & Research, I experience the challenges of adopting renewable energy daily. This is why I do research and tests on future solutions of Smart Energy from a hundred kWh up to GWh. I like to combine applied research with the ideas of companies and grid operators and test this in our test facilities in Lelystad.
