Since 2016, Lyda has been working on her PhD research at the departments of FNP (Forest and Nature Policy) and PAP (Public Administration and Policy). She conducts this alongside her work as a strategic policy officer at the province of Gelderland. Her research question is : To which degree does the professionalisation of farmer collectives contribute to a more effective Agrienvironmental Schemes (AES)?

To achieve this, she first developed an assessment framework (Dik, L. et al 2022). After theat she conducted research among 38 of the 40 Dutch agricultural collectives to determine the degree of professionalisation in cooperation with BoerenNatuur. The results were translated into an article ( under review). Subsequently, an analysis was done based on a Quallitative Comparitive Analysis to determine which characteristics of a professional collective contribute to an effective AES. For this purpose, the dataset of the first study was combined with the dataset of the evaluation of AES conducted by WEnR in 2021 (Boonstra et al. 2021). This article is also under review. She is now completing her PhD.
