After my graduation (veterinary medicine, Utrecht University) I've worked as a veterinary practitioner for equines and small animals for a few years.
As I already had a great interest for infectious diseases and One Health, partly as a result of doing an internship at the World Animal Health Organisation (OIE, Paris), I decided I wanted to focus more on these aspects of veterinary medicine. This was the reason that I applied for my current PhD position at Wageningen University & Research (QVE).
