Paddy fields in Paro

I remember seeing these fields in the first week when I arrived, back in February. They were still fallow. These fields were brown then and now, lush green. Rice cultivation is very typical in Paro. Rice is cultivated right next to the town. Several varieties are grown here, such as IR42 and then the more traditional ones, one is known as ‘red rice’. Red rice tastes a bit more nutty than white rice, but both are nice.
