The bibliometric analysis in My Research Credits (previously known as Staff Publications) was updated. Citations scores were harvested from Web of Science on 30 March 2022 and the publication year 2020 was added. Until recently, the book was on display in the exhibition The Botanical Revolution in the Central Museum in Utrecht. Springer Nature Open Access quota has been reached
Springer Nature and the VSNU agreed that Dutch researchers can publish up to 2,080 articles Open Access without extra costs in 2021. The quota has been reached in October. Hofstee's puzzle: a socio-geographic innovation from the 1950s
In the 1950s Professor E.W. Hofstee from the former department Sociology and Sociography developed a tool to create maps with statistical data of the Netherlands. Bring Your Own Device in Forum Library
At WUR using your own laptop (Bring Your Own Device, BYOD) is becoming the standard in education and for self-study. In the Forum Library, many students already bring their laptops with them and we’re in the process of creating more study places for laptop use. The Dutch Research Council (NWO) supports Open Access books
Open Access has become an established practice for scientific articles. But this is not yet the case for scientific books. NWO has recently launched a funding instrument for NWO researchers who wish to publish their books Open Access. WUR researchers Bernice Bovenkerk and Jozef Keulartz have already received funding.

Have you ever heard of the Pomme Rose, the Enkelde Griet and the Frontignac pear? These are examples of old apple and pear varieties from the famous book by Johann Hermann Knoop, Pomologia (1758). The bibliometric analysis in My Research Credits (previously given in Staff Publications) has been updated and the publication year 2019 has been added. Citation scores were harvested from Web of Science on 24 November 2020. Related metrics like the Relative Impact and the number of Top10% publications have also been calculated.Read news item
