Yale Deng, Ph.D Student (China)
Area of interest
Recirculating aquaculture system, fish intestinal microbiota manipulation, the role of gut flora on the performance and health of fish
Relevant Research
Yale started his PhD in October 2016 at Wageningen UR. His project is mainly about the configuration and operation of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) as a tool to balance the gut microbiota of the farmed juvenile fish.
Before Yale started his PhD, he obtained a BSc degree in aquaculture at China Agriculture University after which he finished his MSc degree in agriculture bio-environment engineering at Zhejiang University, China. His previous study focused on solid-phase biological denitrification treatment for RAS wastewater and the interaction between bacteria community structure and reactor performance.
