The master's Life Science and Science Communication and Society (Leiden University) has its roots in the life sciences (at least 60-80 ECTS of life science courses and 40-60 ECTS in science communication courses, internships and research), whereas Communication and Innovation has its roots in the social sciences (108 ECTS in social science courses, internship and thesis, and 12 ECTS of life science courses). The specialisation Communication and Innovation takes a multidisciplinary approach to involve both social sciences and technical innovations to facilitate and drive societal change.
