In 2017 she set up the Career Centre for the WUR and now she has her focus on the labour market and employer relations. By Joe Laufer | Senior Advisor Alumni Relations University of Twente
Originally from the USA, Joe joined the University of Twente in 2010 as one of the university's first non-Dutch policy advisors. As Alumni Relations Coordinator, he strengthens connections between the university, its graduates, and external partners with a focus on international networks. A Twente alumnus himself, Joe holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (BBA, BJ, MPAff) and an MSc in Human Resources Management from Twente.
The speakers for this event are as follows:
- Parshva Mehta (TU Delft alumnus) of the Startup Noria (Urban plastic soup solutions).
Parshva is a programme manager with a strong interest in sustainability and strategy. His journey spans engineering, design, and business management. He supports Noria, leading an R&D project focused on helping clients tackle aquatic litter pollution and scaling that impact beyond the Netherlands. Outside of work, Parshva enjoys trying new hobbies and traveling to discover new places, perspectives, and experiences. - Nils Wolff (WUR and TU Delft alumnus) of MIT Senseable City Lab.
Nils is a research fellow for the Senseable City Lab Amsterdam (SCA). He is part of the teams for computer vision and outdoor thermal comfort. He links innovative data collection methods with people's well-being. He is currently analyzing how people move between shade and sun in public places. Living in Amsterdam, Nils experiences the impact of heatwaves even in this comparably green and blue city. Nils believes that understanding the implications of climate change on citizens' mobility behavior helps in designing adaptation measures, but also highlights the need for climate change mitigation.
