Summary
Students should develop competencies during their studies, to ensure that they are prepared for their future career. In this thesis, it was studied which competencies should be developed and how these competencies can be implemented in a university curriculum. Through surveys and interviews, the most important competencies were identified that students should develop better in the bachelor programme Food Technology. Next, the presence of these competencies was mapped to identify opportunities for improvement in this bachelor. To stimulate higher-order thinking competencies, a blueprint was developed to implement collaborative learning. Furthermore, a blueprint was developed for defining and designing learning trajectories with activities to implement competencies. This thesis resulted in a framework that other study programmes can use to identify, select, and implement competencies, by providing methods to identify and select competencies, and by providing frameworks to implement competencies in learning trajectories.
