Not sure where to start looking for scientific information? Wondering whether you should use Google Scholar, Scopus, or something else entirely? You’re welcome to join this relaxed workshop.
Stress-free thesis preparation
There are lots of ways to find scientific information, and choosing the right place & methods to search can make your studies a lot easier. In this informal, stress-free workshop, we’ll help you discover which search systems are useful for different kinds of questions and information. There’s no test, no preparation and no prior knowledge needed. You can simply come along, listen and learn. There’ll be no pressure; we won’t ask you questions or put you on the spot.
What will we explore?
During the workshop, we’ll look at:
- the different types of search systems available;
- how to choose a search system that fits your research goal;
- different strategies for finding scientific information; and
- how to build an effective search query for a bibliographic database.
Who is it for?
We especially recommend this workshop for WUR Bachelor’s and Master’s students working on an essay, report or thesis.
