Water Justice in the Ecuadorian and Colombian Highlands

Dissemination Event
Activity- 30 May 2026
- 10.00 - 12.45 h
- Casa Migrante, Amsterdam
This event is organised as part of the Riverhood & River Commons-Master's Exchange Programme at Wageningen University.
This event aims to highlight issues of water injustice by showing how water is unevenly distributed and how access to water is shaped by inequality and power in Colombia and Ecuador. It brings forward the experiences and struggles of local communities aiming towards fairer and more just water systems. The outcomes are the result of an extensive academic and field-based journey undertaken by us. The goal is to share rich and diverse experiences and contribute meaningfully to ongoing discussions on global interrelations, water justice, and cross-cultural collaboration. Complimentary refreshments, including coffee, tea, and snacks, will be available throughout the event.
We would be honoured by your presence and participation in this event, which will bring together academic institutions, consulates, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders committed to social and environmental justice.
Please confirm your assistance and the number of people from your organisation who will be present before Friday 22th May by email to: hilsje.rijkhoff@wur.nl.
