Education of Bioprocess Engineering

The education offered by Bioprocess Engineering focuses on design of biotechnological processes for production of pharmaceuticals, healthy food ingredients, bulk chemicals and biofuels. These bio-based products should be produced in a sustainable and economical way.
Thesis
If you would like to do your BSc or MSc thesis project in our group, you can choose for one of the available thesis projects or research themes. You can always contact one of us for more information or to see if your interests can be matched with one of our studies.
Internship
The internship on a Bioprocess Engineering oriented topic requires the student to have a sufficient background in engineering-related knowledge applied to the Bioprocess field. The student should have sufficient skills in analysing the bioprocess and/or the metabolism of a production microorganism, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions. After finding a possible internship provider (amply before the formal start of the internship): check with the BPE internship coordinator if your internship meets the criteria and who can be your WU supervisor during the internship.
