Hun or hen? U hebt or u heeft? Dat or wat? Gedachtegang or gedachtengang? Do you regularly doubt the correct spellings of words, how they are used, or sentence construction? Or do you just want to gain more confidence in applying grammatical rules and language conventions in your texts?
In this practical tailor-made course, you get to refresh your knowledge of Dutch. You will practise with common language questions, and get clear explanations and handy tips to avoid pitfalls.
Content and approach
You will take a short diagnostic test beforehand that immediately shows which language components require extra attention. We then compile the programme based on your test results. We can address various mistakes you regularly make in this format.
The alternation between fill-in-the-blank exercises, text and explanation, quizzes, film clips and a final test provide the necessary dynamics.
What will be covered?
Topics that may be covered include:
Spelling of verbs and common errors
- gebeurd or gebeurt?
- gecancelled or gecanceld?
- geklaploopt or klap gelopen?
General spelling
- Writing words separately or together: back-upplan or backupplan?
- Tussen –n en –s in compound nouns: wezenloos or wezeloos?
- Capitalisation: raad van bestuur or Raad van Bestuur?
- Punctuation: comma, semicolon, or colon?
Sentence structure
- Stylistic errors, dual meaning of words and incorrect contractions.
- Inconsistencies in plural and singular forms.

During an intake interview, we will determine what is desirable and feasible and we will discuss the approach and design of our offer, from a coaching programme to a short workshop or multi-day course. The course can take place in a small group with your team or department, but also one-on-one. Courses take place at our premises or in-company. In some cases, some or all of the course can also take place online. After the intake interview, you will receive an offer with a tailor-made programme.
