What you will learn

Your focus

Oceans are of immense value to both humans and nature. They provide food, coastal protection, opportunities for tourism, energy production, transportation, climate mitigation and so on. How can we use marine resources and conserve and restore marine ecosystems at the same time? And how can we catch or produce fish for consumption responsibly and sustainably?

You will learn to:

  • Study aquaculture and marine resource management from various disciplines and viewpoints
  • Focus on overfishing, sustainable certification, pollution, ecosystem restoration, and coastal communities
  • Prepare thoroughly for your thesis research by selecting relevant courses and learning scientific methods that fit your interests and ambitions
  • Learn to collaborate across disciplines and cultures with partners in science, government, civil society, and industry
Important:
You will not focus only on fundamental biology. You will combine biology with social sciences to protect, restore, and use marine and freshwater ecosystems sustainably.
