Entrepreneurship education

Turning knowledge into value is what drives a lot of entrepreneurial students at Wageningen. The WU offers a BSc minor and an MSc track to help you develop your entrepreneurial mindset while you study. Plus, all students (BSc, MSc, and PhD) can take individual courses, and the StartHub offers extra-curricular courses and activities.

Entrepreneurship in and outside Science

The programme is tailored for PhD candidates and early-career researchers who are curious about how their scientific work can contribute to real-world solutions. It guides participants through the early stages of turning scientific knowledge into societal, environmental, or economic impact by exploring various valorisation pathways.

The course introduces entrepreneurship not just as a career path, but as a way of working — a mindset that encourages opportunity recognition, innovation, and the development of concrete propositions that may lead to new products, services, policies, or ventures.

MSc Track Entrepreneurship

Put your knowledge into action, valorise your ideas, develop an entrepreneurial mind-set, and make impact? When you are looking for creating societal change, products, services or processes this track is for you. Release the entrepreneurial spirit by embedding the track into your MSc program and develop your changemaking agency. A series of courses to choose from, an entrepreneurial focus within your ACT and internship allow you to shape this track to your interest and MSc program.

The master Track Entrepreneurship is a comprehensive program focusing on innovative, sustainable entrepreneurship within the Wageningen domains. Theory and practice will be combined in interactive and thought-provoking education. The program provides you with the opportunity to increase collaboration with entrepreneurial-minded stakeholders in and outside the university. Think of various companies, start-ups and non-profit organizations. Your scientific background from your study program plus the knowledge and skills learned in this track contribute to becoming a changemaker with clear agency!

BSc minor Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WUINE)

The BSc Minor Innovation and Entrepreneurship focuses on the value of knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship in life sciences, environmental sciences and agriculture. Students will become familiar with the interplay between the production of science and technology and the commercialisation of academic knowledge and design.

Further, students will gain an in-depth understanding of the gaps between science and business and will be taught how to bridge these gaps. This minor offers the opportunity for a broad range of students, from the life sciences and from technological education programmes, to learn about the principles of innovation management and entrepreneurship.
