What is at stake?
Rural biodiversity sustains ecosystems, food security, and climate resilience, but faces growing threats from habitat loss and degradation. By combining technology with ecological knowledge, we can restore nature through smarter land use, regenerative business models, and scalable solutions. Your ideas today can shape the world of tomorrow.
Who can join?
The Challenge is open to all Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students worldwide.
We’re looking for diverse, innovative minds from fields like: Environmental Science, Biology, Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, GIS, Business, Social Entrepreneurship, Data Science, Remote Sensing, Urban and Regional Planning, and beyond! Biodiversity restoration needs many disciplines working together.
What is there for you?
The Rewild the Future Challenge is more than just a competition. It’s your chance to make a real impact on rural biodiversity. You’ll receive guidance from mentors in business, academia, and NGOs to turn your ideas into practical solutions. Join workshops that sharpen your skills in innovation, teamwork, and sustainability, while deepening your understanding of biodiversity challenges. Connect with like-minded students from around the world and make friends for life. Finalists will present their solutions to an international jury, gain global visibility, and compete for €9,000 in prizes. You’ll grow as a professional, a changemaker, and a voice for nature.
“Participating in the Challenge has been transformative, pushing us to innovate and integrate nature-based solutions in ways we hadn't imagined.”
