What you will learn

Your focus

During the two-year MSc programme, you critically examine the growing significance and complexity of tourism. As such, you will be able to identify the big challenges of future tourism, such as climate change, migration, inequality, resilience, biodiversity, ‘overtourism’, ageing populations and ethical issues, but also to contribute to effective and sustainable solutions for the future of tourism. 

You will learn to:

  • Analyse how tourism shapes and is shaped by society, culture, economy, and the environment.
  • Apply multiple concepts to understand complex tourism encounters and related dynamics.
  • Design and conduct research to address real-world tourism challenges.
  • Develop sustainable, innovative and inspiring solutions for tourism transitions.
  • Explore your personal professional position within an evolving tourism sector.

This programme does not focus on hospitality management or the day-to-day operations of the tourism industry.
