The VENI is a personal scientific grant aimed at researchers who have recently obtained their PhD. The grant instrument allows recipients to conduct research of their own choosing.

Two hundred researchers have been awarded a NWO-VENI grant this year. Each researcher will receive a maximum of 320,000 euros. The grant is an incentive for adventurous, talented, and groundbreaking researchers to further develop their own research ideas over the next three years.

EVERY FARM A GARDEN: A new design brief for farming in Europe?

European farmers are expected to increase food production while at the same time protecting nature. But many struggle within an agricultural system that encourages ‘every farm a factory’, leaving them little room for innovation. Lenora investigates what can be learned from exceptionally innovative farmers who organize their farms more like gardens than factories. Combining science, art, and design, she will explore how this ‘garden thinking’ could help agriculture stay within planetary boundaries.
