The research in a Mexican forest frontier in a protected area includes soil microbial biology, soil quality and supporting ecosystem services and their linkage with the aboveground vegetation and different land uses. We first did a general soil characterization in two communities and we further explore ecosystem processes (decomposition) in parallel with primary production (work from a peer PhD).
