AM (Ana) Arbelaez Trujillo, MSc

I am an environmental lawyer with a Master's degree in Public Policy. My research interests are focused on political ecology, environmental justice, and legal anthropology. In my doctoral research, I study how riverine communities in Colombia (La Miel River) and Spain (Dílar and Monachil Rivers) mobilize the law to defend their rivers from extractive threats. This work is carried out in collaboration with activist collectives for river defense and within the framework of the "Riverhood" project.

I have over seven years of professional experience advising the implementation of social housing and water and sanitation programs in Colombia and as a legal consultant advising several governments and private sector actors on their climate change policies and climate communication strategies.
