Biography
I am an Indonesian, studying PhD in Water Resources Management. I am currently working on a project - Organizational Dynamics and Resilience: 20 Years of Water User Associations in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Once central to the management of tertiary irrigation and overall agricultural life, Water User Associations (WUAs) – locally known as Perkumpulan Petani Pemakai Air (P3As) have been challenged by evolving socio-economic, climate variability, emerging irrigation technologies, and policy shifts. This project will investigate how the challenges have evolved, how associations adapt, how the dynamics challenged the sustainability and resiliency of P3As, and how are the future resiliency and sustainability P3As under future drivers’ projections. The results will provide clues to build resilient water governance, whether still in the P3A under IMT format or others.
I earned my bachelor's degree from the Department of Environmental Geography, Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia in 2017; and my master's degree from the Water, Society, and Policy MS Program, School of Natural Resources and the Environment, University of Arizona, USA in 2020.
Before coming to the Netherlands for this PhD program, I was a lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Indonesia—and I maintained this status throughout my doctoral studies. Prior to this position, I had worked in several positions, primarily in the water governance and management sector, with strong community engagement, both in Indonesia and the United States.
In my spare time, I work as a property broker in Yogyakarta. This means I have not only an academic and theoretical background, but also a practical, grassroots background.
With this background, I am ready to collaborate with you.
