Camilo Torres is a scholar of environmental governance, sustainability, and territorial development, with a strong research record in the Colombian Amazon and Latin America. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from Wageningen University, where his doctoral thesis Ontological Battlefields in the Amazon: Illegal Gold Mining and Environmental Governance in the Colombian Amazon explored the intersections of political ecology, ontological justice, and extractive frontiers.
