C (Clare) Nakimpi, MSc

Clare is a sandwich PhD candidate in the Agricultural Economics and Rural Policy (AEP) group in Wageningen University. She works under the supervision of prof.dr. JHH (Justus) Wesseler, dr. EI (Esther) Gehrke and dr. PTM (Paul) Ingenbleek. She has an M. Sc. in Marketing from Makerere University, Uganda.

Clare's research focuses on increasing value to the banana plant specifically evaluating opportunities for banana-residue products. The research will investigate banana biomass (fibre) supply opportunities and the value chain to support bio-based production. In Uganda, I work with National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) under the National Banana Research Program (NBRP). The results from my research are expected to provide insights into effective bio-based supply chains and policy recommendations on bio-based production in developing countries.
