I am a postdoctoral researcher at Wageningen University and Research, working within the European SparkleFire project. SparkleFire aims to develop and implement serious games to increase awareness of wildfire risk across four European bioregions, covering the full cycle of wildfire management, from prevention and adaptation to response. My contribution to the project focuses on communication and education: how do communities in the Netherlands, an emerging wildfire country, understand wildfire risk, and how can communication support public engagement with land management practices that reduce that risk? I use a range of methods, including media framing analysis, public participation research, and serious games. Alongside my research, I am a lecturer within the Integrated Fire Management course at Wageningen University and Research. I hold a PhD in Health Promotion from Maastricht University.
