Biography

Biography

Inge Regelink has been a researcher within the Sustainable Soil Use team since 2011 and specialized in fertilizers, manure processing, RENURE fertilizers, and fertilizer policy.

She currently leads several research projects, including the PPS project NitriNure (2025–2029), which focuses on manure processing and nitrogen recovery from manure. She is also a co-supervisor of a PhD candidate working on the long-term effects of phosphate fertilization.

With her expertise in soil fertility, manure processing, and nutrient management, Inge collaborates with researchers, policymakers, and industry partners to develop solutions for sustainable and circular agriculture.

Inge grew up on a farm in the Achterhoek region of the Netherlands. She studied Soil, Water and Atmosphere (BSc) and subsequently Soil Chemistry (MSc) at Wageningen University & Research, where she later obtained her PhD in soil chemistry.

PPS Project NitriNure – Project leader (2025–2029)

  • Practice-oriented research on innovative manure processing technologies, including nitrogen stripping and the development of mineral fertilizer substitutes (RENURE). The project also provides guidance on the use of RENURE fertilizers aimed at reducing nitrogen emissions.

Long-term phosphate fertilization trials on grassland and arable land (2013–2028)

  • Long-term field experiments on grassland and arable land investigating the effects of different phosphate fertilization levels on soil P status, crop yields, and phosphate leaching.
