Biography
Dr. Jerrold M. Tubay is a seasoned expert in simulation, optimization, and mathematical modeling, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. With a strong foundation in applied mathematics and systems engineering, Dr. Tubay specializes in developing data-driven models to solve complex real-world problems across disciplines, including epidemiology, agriculture, and industrial processes.
He holds a Doctor of Science in Mathematical and Systems Engineering from Shizuoka University, Japan, where he was a scholar of the Environmental Leaders Program and a Mitsubishi Corporation International Scholar. His doctoral research focused on lattice modeling for plant community dynamics and biodiversity. He also earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, graduating cum laude.
Dr. Tubay’s academic journey spans over two decades, including roles as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines. His research has led to numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, covering topics from disease modeling and vaccine allocation to biodiversity and game theory.
