Biography
Molecular ecologist specializing in biodiversity assessment using environmental DNA (eDNA). With this approach, I analyse DNA from soil, water, and more recently air samples to efficiently and accurately detect species presence. I also work with DNA from bulk samples, such as insects, macrofauna and zooplankton, to characterize biodiversity of these communities. My goal is to provide clients and policymakers with practical tools for targeted, cost-effective, and reliable biodiversity monitoring.
In addition, I work on integrating eDNA techniques with both conventional field monitoring and innovative approaches such as camera traps, passive acoustic monitoring, and AI-based image recognition. This combined approach supports the validation and further optimization of eDNA as a key tool within integrated monitoring strategies.
