Biography

Dr. Stacy Pyett has more than two decades of experience translating scientific excellence into impactful research and innovation initiatives. Stacy is widely recognized as a thought leader in sustainable food systems and is one of Wageningen University & Research's most experienced program managers.

Trained as a Chemical Engineer with a PhD and postdoctoral research background, Stacy has built her career at the interface of science and societal impact. Over the past decade, she coordinated multidisciplinary teams, developed strategic partnerships, and secured investment for ambitious research programs. Most recently, she led the Proteins for Life program and coordinated the Protein Transition investment theme for WUR, bringing together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and civil society organizations to advance healthy and sustainable diets. Prior to this, she held leadership positions in research management, business development, and market strategy at NIZO and Campina, where she gained extensive experience guiding complex multi-partner projects from scientific concept to implementation. In parallel, she has served in numerous international governance and advisory roles, including with the Institute of Food Technologists, the Good Food Institute, and the Protein Competence Center.

Stacy's particular strength lies in building coalitions across disciplines, sectors, and geographies, and in creating the partnerships, governance structures, and operating models required to deliver transformative innovation at scale.
