dr. SE (Saskia) Werners

Saskia E. Werners’ main research interests are adaptation and climate resilient development pathways. Her mission is to provide actionable knowledge for sustainable futures. Capitalizing on our growing capacity to project climate impacts, systemic risks and uncertainty, she researches how to capacitate actors for adaptation planning. Her research covers both short-term adaptive decision-making and longer-term adaptation pathways. By working together and integrating actor perspectives, Dr. Werners aims to increase the actionability of information and empower actors to respond adaptively to change. Next to her commitment to Wageningen UR, Dr. Werners is affiliated to United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security.
