My main interests and research questions relate to the nexus between biobased systems and the environment. We need these systems to be sufficient, resilient and longer lasting alternatives to current fossil based systems, while also tackling climate change and avoiding environmental impacts generated by our modern lifestyles.

How can we do this?- good question. I am trying to find some answers to these big challenges by taking a systematic and pragmatic approach. This includes looking at principles of agroecology, regenerative development, circularity and nature based solutions. What is important is to balance technocentric and socio-ecocentric concepts for supporting more sustainable and regenrative resource and land uses. Extractive behaviours are no longer an option
