dr. THV (Van) Nguyen

I have been doing research in soilless growing media starting with my PhD (2018-2022) and then postdoc (2022-2023) at University of Bonn, Germany. My research focuses on developing sustainable growing media from renewable plant fibers (e.g. Miscanthus biomass).

My interest in applied horticultural research has guided me through different study programs (BSc. in Biotechnology at University of Science, Vietnam; MSc. In Horticulture at University of Hannover, Germany) and professional positions (plant tissue culture for ornamentals, vegetable and seed production and seaweed farming in Vietnam).

I joined the team Root Zone Dynamics, Business Unit Greenhouse Horticulture, Wageningen University and Research in May 2023. As a Scientific Researcher Root environment and Substrate, I conduct application-oriented research to create a healthy and resilient root environment (plant-soil/substrate-water system).
