dr. W (Weixiao) Gao

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing at Wageningen University & Research (WUR). Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the 3D Geoinformation Group at TU Delft, where I also earned my PhD—focused on the semantic understanding of urban scenes from textured meshes.

I hold dual Master’s degrees in Geoinformation Science from TU Berlin and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). My core expertise spans photogrammetry, computer vision, computational geometry, geoinformation science, and remote sensing.

My research focuses on advancing the understanding of urban scenes through cutting-edge 3D modeling techniques, alongside developing innovative applications in 3D spatial intelligence.
