I am a geneticist with special interest in transmission genetics. Research is aimed at the analysis of the role of mutation and recombination for fungal adaptation and evolution in nature as well as in the laboratory. In the laboratory we work with ascomycete fungi like Aspergillus, Neurospora and Podospora. Current research is e.g. on the genetics of Aspergillus fumigatus, selfish genetic elements in Podospora and Neurospora and lifespan extending effect of CR in Podospora.I teach introductory and advanced genetics courses.
